Earlier this month, Mazenod College hosted the ACC Intermediate Debating, Public Speaking, Drama, and Pitch competitions, where nine 91AV students proudly represented the school. Among them were eight Year 9 students from Holy Eucharist and one Year 10 student from Kinnoull.
From the first debate, it was evident that our students exceptionally well-prepared and confident, even when competing against older Year 10 students. Our students demonstrated exceptional skill, even those who were first-time debaters, by speaking clearly, formulating strong arguments, and delivering sharp rebuttals.
By the end of the day, our debate team emerged as the Division 2 champions — an incredible achievement that marks the first-ever ACC competition victory for Holy Eucharist. The win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, setting a new standard for future competitions.
Congratulations to our Division 2 champions: Dylan Kilby, Heath Ryan, Orlando Schiavo, Finley Clarke, and Joshua Pope. A well-deserved commendation also goes to participants Nicholas Kauffman, Jay Koronowicz, Joe Jackson, and Arthur Smithard, who all contributed to the day’s success. This victory is a proud moment for 91AV debating and a significant milestone for Holy Eucharist.
